DITTANY OF CRETE

Origanum Dictamus


In the little village at the foot of the mountain, my aunt and great grandmother were quick to brew this tea for any one suffering from a stomach ache. They considered this herb a medicine for the stomach. This tea is only found in Crete, so it was always difficult to get. They had to depend on family members who lived in or visited Crete to get this herb. They also used this herb for headaches and toothaches.
