GREEK CHAMOMILE

Χαμομηλι

MAMARIA HAMAIMILON

Long before expensive skin creams and lotions, Greek women new that for clear, healthy skin, you should wash your face with cool chamomile tea.

When I was a baby, my mother would steep the Χαμομηλι tea. When the tea cooled down, she would put some tea on a cotton ball and apply it to our face. My great grandmother told her to do that so we wouldn't get severe acne growing up. My mother would apply the tea as soon as anything showed up on our face and we never really had bad acne.

She would also give us the Χαμομηλι tea when we had a stomach ache and would help us sleep.
